Slavros SD Biaxial Meshes
Flat polypropylene meshes with quadrangular cells specially designed for construction work on soft soils and also for structures that need to tolerate large dynamic or static loads. During manufacturing, the mesh is stretched in two directions (molecule orienting) in order to obtain high strength and to limit creep effects. As well as eliminating interpenetration of structural layers, the geomesh enables wedging of the structural filler in the cells, thus limiting horizontal displacements. High rigidity of Slavros SD geomesh allows it to withstand considerable loads with very little distortion.
Advantages of Slavros SD mesh:
• Reduction of construction site area.
• Reduction of the amount of imported filler, which is required, and possibility of substitution by local soil.
• Effective for erection of an embankment on a weak base, since the mesh makes it unnecessary to build viaducts on piles and to replace soft base soils with high-quality imported filler.
• Able to withstand uneven settlement.
• Effective for reinforcement of ground structures during construction of retaining walls and bridge abutments.
• ffers an alternative to expensive foundation.
Applications of Slavros SD geomesh:
• Reinforcement of structural layers of road surfaces during construction of new roads and reconstruction of existing roads.
• Widening of the carriage way and bridge approaches.
• Creation of temporary and process roads (in particular, roads alongside pipeline routes during construction of pipelines).
• Enabling machinery access to construction sites.
• Construction of sites to tolerate heavy loads (container terminals, harbour facilities, aerodromes), warehouse complexes, HGV parking areas, etc.).
• Reinforcement of subballast and ballast layers of railway bed during construction and overhauls. • Reinforcement of concrete.
• Soil reinforcement after mining works.
• Prevention of rock falls, etc.
